We’re continuing to plan for more mid-rise housing along Toronto’s Avenues as part of Phase 2 of the Avenues Policy Review.

Avenues are major corridors across the city supported by transit, shops and everyday services. They’re key places where new housing and growth are planned to happen.

Earlier this year, City Council expanded the Avenues network by 283 km. With new citywide policies now in effect following confirmation by the Ontario Land Tribunal in July, Avenues now have clear rules for mid-rise housing, opening more opportunities for homes in walkable communities.

Today, the Province of Ontario approved, with modifications, 120 Major Transit Station Areas and Protected Major Transit Station Areas in #Toronto. The decision increases building heights and densities near transit and supports more housing options for these areas.
