👏 And we’ve heard that the UK Government is planning to review the definition of irreplaceable habitats in national planning policy in England!

📢 Lugg Meadow, the UK’s largest remaining Lammas meadow, is under threat from housing plans. A rare habitat, rich in wildlife and tradition, could be irreversibly damaged.

Hot weather can change how plants behave and in some cases, make it harder for seeds to grow, creating big challenges for conservation work.

Hot temperatures can disrupt flower reproduction because the male and female parts might not mature at the same time.

This shortens the time for pollination and increases the risk that the plant may fail to reproduce.

Heat can interfere with how plants produce salicylic acid, a key chemical in their immune response. This disruption makes plants more vulnerable to disease.
