Left is my original design for Ilyn. His name then was going to be "Rosewald", and he was partially possessed by a spirit called "Aelin", so that's where his current name comes from.

Ilyn has magical powers but doesn't know it. "Magic" in the story means he can connect with the spirit world. Without realizing it, Ilyn uses his powers to make himself very small when he's in the spirit world. That's why spirits that take the form of insects are curious about him :3

For 1 year and a half, Ilyn wors as a secretary to his recently crowned brother. He hates it, but doesn't want to disappoint his brother. Plus, he uses it to appoint people in important positions who are more likely to pardon Calista.
