biggest difference is that, as driven as he is, khasar has certain lines he will never cross. lycaon doesn’t. if her research requires a life or two, well, those people can die knowing it was in service to a greater cause

she’s also more charismatic than him. and dare I say scarier lol

anyway the two are similar in that they’re both highly ambitious, feel they have something to prove, and have a tendency to be drawn in by unusual topics. also their lax views on morals and social rules.

I hc that the ambition + draw towards weird stuff is a commonality between all lycaon’s shards

she’d want to take khasar’s place (taking over his body or doing some magic soul absorption shit, whatever’s easiest) and would honestly believe he owes that to her.

MEANWHILE khasar would find lycaon. unnerving. and would think she’s absolutely nuts after getting to know her better

initiated by him (extremely rare) - pulls you into himself and clings more. probably also uses one hand to cradle the back of your head. very warm, perfect amount of squeeze that’s just enough to make you feel it without being suffocating 👍

FOR MEEEEE it really hits when I'm discussing a plot point with someone and one of us can hit the other with something like "ohhh and this would hit blorbo especially hard because it reminds her of what happened with her friend that died"

then again the vast majority of my rp experience comes from forums which is arguably a different culture.....I dunno I prefer my partner(s) knowing what's up. I already said it feels more collaborative to me but also I think not having that info means you lose out on some of the character's depth

anyway fascinated by the responses to that qotd....in my experience it's always kinda been a given that the people you're rping with know your oc's backstory (or at least the bare bones). I'm kinda shocked to see how many people enjoy "surprising" the person/people they're writing with

anyway all that said I don't think I'd call myself a "find out in rp" type of person because I actually prefer if my rp partner knows all of an oc's lore. it's more fun that way imo 🙂‍↕️ feels more collaborative.

so idk I guess I'm a secret third option. not "find out in rp" but "find out from me" LOL

and I don't say that last bit in a self-deprecating "no one cares" way!! I think it's a lot to expect strangers to read through paragraphs of lore, especially in cases like mine when I'm not looking to use it as jumping off point. personally I'll usually only skim the history on someone else's carrd

-like 90% of his history isn't relevant in terms of rp starting points, and anything that *is* relevant fits well enough in his bio or as a hook. with some ocs it's fun to say "oh what if they met years ago," but I'm not into that with him

I think it’s especially hard with khasar because ffxiv plays very fast and loose with its lore and I constantly have to decide what irl stuff is applicable + how advanced eorzean medical science is 😵‍💫 like. garleans know about genetics but how widespread would those studies be
