Hydrangeas are amazing—cut them when they drying. The dried blooms can last for months and keep that soft, faded charm going well into winter.

I had a collection of dried plants and wanted to find a simple way to display them on the wall.
I experimented with clay slab strips—shaping them into gentle wavy forms and adding small holes to hold the plants

I would like to suspend these pieces either on the string or use another technique to elevate them off the wall. Haven't landed on the best solution yet.

Doodling in clay — this was a fun, spontaneous project. I rolled out a slab and began cutting out various shapes, many of which have been recurring in the pages of my sketchbook. These forms, born from moments of mindless doodling, are now finding their way into physical space.

Here’s a glimpse into my process. I cut a shape into a foam board and place a clay slab on top, pressing it down to create a raised form on one side. I repeat for the mirrored side. Once both halves are leather-hard, I join them together to complete the structure.

Each of these pieces was created using a different clay body, and surface decoration but the same building technique using hollow cut out on the foam boards as a push mold.

The timing for this project was perfect, as I had been trying out a new technique for building sculptural forms, and it was rewarding to see those concepts come to life as one-of-a-kind pieces that could honor members of our creative community.

These small sculptures were born out of an exciting opportunity to create awards for a Chicago Art Department community event. What made the project especially meaningful was the complete creative freedom,
