We have to galvanize now to prepare for the climate emergencies to come. Say the truth. Focus. Link arms and walk into the wind.

There is something to be done about climate collapse, but it has to be everyone’s fight.

A list of my responsibilities during this now permanent time of epochal poly-crisis:

1. Face and accept reality. Stay informed with credible news every day. Bear witness.
2. Stay with the problems. Focus.
3. Prepare calmly and methodically.
4. Join in and organize like our lives depend on it.

For those who are mad and activated (good) my one hope is that you will look for the people already doing the work. You probably do not need to invent your own new organization or group. Find the people already doing it and join them, listen to them, learn from them.

Robert Reich is correct. First, we have to protect the most vulnerable from the worst of what is promised. Then, organize, organize, organize. This is an all-hands-on-deck problem no matter where you live. Shared resolve is the only way through.

“Now this is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning.” — Winston Churchill, 1942

It's going to take sustained focus, vigilance, and radical adaptation to get us through this. But, as Frost said, "The best way out is always through."
