It's just Competitive Battle chess. Each piece has their own rules about how and when they can move and there is a timer between each players turn 🤷

Nah, not working during my weekend, it can wait until Monday.

Do you reckon if a card comes out the players get the full name treatment, just like your mum used to do, to emphasise how poor their behaviour was.

Always thought it was a shame that after college your football journey is over. No playing competitively for fun. I'm mid 50's and play 11 a side soccer every week in an offiical FA run league. Its very amateur but there are 1000's of clubs that play on Saturdays and Sundays across the UK.

Gives the kids one last shot at making it, or one last game before they hang up their pads I guess.

Are there semi pro or amateur football leagues in the US? Or does your playing career end after college.

Don't all these 'non-championship' type games / bowls just devalue the sport as a competition.

All-Star games are fun exhibitions but there shouldn't be any kudos attached to appearing in them.

In a country where winning is everything, the Pro Bowl is simply a participation event for all the losers 😉

Still one going strong in Cambridge, always a dangerous (for the wallet), place to visit.

Given its our unofficial national sport, you'd think everyone would happily embrace the opportunity to join another orderly queue

Same, coupled with the fact I clearly don't even have the muscle types of guns, and I immediately looked horrified at what I had just said 😅

Got stopped because something was showing on my upper arm on the scanner. Security asked if I had anything and without thinking I jokingly flexed my bicep and said "no, just my guns" 🫣

Texas, where I believe it is legal to open carry in public without a licence. As an ex UK serviceman (Military Police, so frequently re-qualified on many different types of firearms) this is just mind blowing.

Love how such an innocent and charming post made everyone reading it in the UK react like this 😆

They were gutted that 'Axis of Evil' had already been taken.
January 22, 2026 at 1:31 PM
Putting your insane government and ICE to one side for a moment, the fact the US has a major issue with gun control is a pretty good reason to be mildly concerned. Coming from the UK, seeing open carrying was pretty alarming.
