The Nobel committee should not be punishing a woman for tap dancing around a rapey man child holding her country hostage. They should be punishing the people standing around applauding a man baby for taking what isn’t his. It’s a blatant power grab and shaming a woman doesn’t change it.

Those aren’t mutually exclusive. You can and should protest AND vote. AND attend your congressperson’s town halls. Although I understand many GOP reps don’t have them now. And you can call their offices, because they do keep records of how many people call about what.

That’s without even considering the consequences of extracting what’s there. Oil companies are still valued based on their reserves as if they can be extracted without creating a climate unlivable for humans. Just extracting what’s easier to reach will still put us in very bad news territory.

The REAL news story is all the people who stood around out of frame and clapped at the idiot accepting not just someone else’s peace prize, but a woman’s prize. A leader of a country he, a convicted rapist, just bombed. Why is a room full of people acting like this is not embarrassing for him?
