I understand that it consumes a lot of resources and that we can do better. But why are we so lenient about IT resource consumption as a whole then ?

Most of the Gen AI's bashing are actually just people behaving poorly. Laziness and plagiarism did not appear with Gen AI. I really don't understand why they're the main arguments against it
