Neighbor brewery knocked it out of the park with this beer. Oatmeal stout with cacao and vanilla, and a nice Chiapas coffee that we took to like a light medium modern espresso roast for it. I don’t imbibe as often as I used to, but I’ll make exceptions. Prost!

Trying to train the algorithm to only play me the music that the too-cool-for-school woulda listened to in 1985. I roast better coffee while applying a different demographic’s angst music.

18 batch coffee roast day. That’s not so many hours but it’s a lot of concentration and a lot of “I could manage this green coffee dust better” thinking. So here’s Eddie, the distinguished individual I had to ditch when I went to work.

Took that Costa Rica natural home to try on a home drip machine. It’s really good, but not weird enough yet. I’ll make it weirder. BTW, favorite mug. From Sunergos Coffee. Made by Sunset Hill. They refuse to make this design anymore. We’d buy hundreds. Oh well.

I planned to basically do a Chicago “carrot cake crawl” for my birthday, and it fell apart. My baker buddy came through for me big time. :)

QA on a natural process Sarchimor from Costa Rica. We’ve had Aguilera Brothers naturals on and off for 8 years now. And every time I get a new coffee, it’s literally back to the drawing board. I think this one wants to be bright, and have little wisps of strawberry and watermelon.
