He's pretty uniquely unpopular. Even a year ago his numbers were far better, he was for a time one of if not the most popular premiers in the country

I recall a time when the media uncovering racist rants by random UKIP candidates was a big scandal. Seems quaint now tbh

Fun fact: I'm pretty sure Piruzza was the only sitting Liberal MPP to be defeated in the 2014 election, an election which mostly saw the Liberals up across the board

That'd be great, I just have even less faith in that ever actually happening ☹️ Maybe the new mayor of Detroit'll have some ideas, I don't know anything about her, but apparently the UAW endorsed her opponent - which is a plus for her in my books

Even Dilkins likes *old* transit (see www.cbc.ca/news/canada/..., which was his pet project). He just hates anything getting in the way of cars

I recall hearing (maybe apocryphal) stories of Syrian political prisoners being released assuming that it must have been because Saddam had finally invaded and toppled the Assads

Should note that non-permanent immigration has fallen off a cliff over the last year though, and Canada's population growth was probably ~0% in 2025

Nope it's legit. The Fraser Institute is... not great, but I'm pretty sure the infographic is correct: www.fraserinstitute.org/studies/cana...

> "Yes we have that aspect to our foreign policy. But I wouldn’t describe our foreign policy as feminist foreign policy"

Considering the quote and that Carney has kept the Feminist International Assistance Policy intact I don't think he's actually changed anything, despite the headlines

Also, the place that seems to be the current favourite for the new capital is in the heart of the Iranian Sunni and Baloch population. Potentially moving millions of Shi'ite Persians in could go a long way to shoring up the regime there
