Boiling some driftwood for the old man*

*retired class fish

(He retired because he was old - and I wanted to prevent the preschool kids to experience his death midday)

He will now retire in luxury while a new fish enjoys his old school condo.*

*5 gallon plastic fish tank

(Please excuse the lipstick tubes, the temp tank was on my vanity.) This was the first betta fish I ever cared for. That being said, I am starting to accept that he is at the end of his life. While I got him healthy enough, I think it's time to plan a 'retirement party' with the kids at preschool.

Hot take: Stranger Things Season 5 is just a very long infomercial by The Duffer Brothers on why we should all go to therapy.

A Christmas miracle: Our betta boy, who did NOT die, is chilling in his recovery tank with fresh water after being traumatized by a salt soak last night. Struggling with his fins a bit but I will keep an eye on him and fast him for a few days in case - hopefully it's only stress and temporary.

Well. Pretty sure our class fish has bloat. Thank goodness petco was open today to get stuff to try to help him. I really hope I don't accidentally kill this fish by trying to help him. Merry Christmas everyone, I'm hoping for a small miracle here.

Are emotions supposed to also be physically painful?

BRING BACK CLOAKS! The OG wearable blanket.

Self portrait. If I go missing now I have the most recent photo with my new hair chop. Not the most glamorous, but it will do for practical use. I don't need to smile, my current state is angry. Might feel the cringe later, IDK. I feel old.

Everything is profoundly lonely here, and I am not in a state enough to change that. I suppose that might be part of seasonal depression, though?

Can't sleep. It might be because I'm about to experience our first snow day of the season. Also my brain isn't being kind to me tonight. Best methods to fix an unkind brain, especially for sleep?

Played Teddy's Haven again today. Playing it feels like a warm hug. I know I'm not personally connected to this game but to know the lore makes me happy just to think people care about others that much to make a tribute to their memory. I was very sad to see that the developers added another grave.

Today is the last school day of the week for us. Boy, am I relieved. I can really use this day of rest tomorrow before family stuff. To the introverts with sound sensitivity going to large family gatherings with very loud people: I am you. I am thinking of you.

A step in the right direction healthwise! Just a few more bits of info before some action!

Social media is killing our relationships, I feel.

Big Sad hit big.

It's 4am. Left work early for dr appt, went to wrong clinic, missed it. Why have multiple clinics in a small space and not update Google Maps? Lost, then found, debit card. Had to go out to get more food bc place forgot to give whole order to Dasher. Can't sleep, sore. Work tomorrow. Needed to vent.

I may start voicing again. December is not guaranteed as far as my current Head Start career. If this is true, not only will I have time, I'll need extra money too. So if anyone needs children's storytelling and narration or voices for video games, I'd be happy to provide to build my portfolio. LMK.

I am just so grateful to be home with my dogs and my partner. I have had a good yet chaotic day with my preschool kids at Head Start with my co-teacher being sick. My manager had to sub because our program is being subsidized this month by the state during the shutdown and we can't afford subs.

IT'S TIME TO WATCH OVER THE GARDEN WALL!!!
October 20, 2025 at 11:10 PM
My dogs can tell when I don't feel well, and I currently have both of them snuggling up on me on the couch. ❤️
Learned more about my body ailments from the blood tests and of what I found out, I'm not surprised, and actually, it's both a relief and somewhat validating.
Just waiting for a call.

I feel that although I didn't teach today, I did get plenty of things done, including making more progress on figuring out what ails me. 8 vials of blood and an assessment from my doctor is, of course, simply telling me I need more information... but the next steps are being put into action!

Long shot, but does anyone remember the show Happy!, and if so, does anyone know where I can buy a physical copy of both seasons for region 1?

I'm going back to work tomorrow after ER visit to do tests, CT scan of my abdomen. They said I'm ok and sent me home with some meds. When I called my dr. to ask for an explanation for why some of my labs were abnormal, they called back to schedule a follow-up. I just want to understand.

I've always been too scared to try to do new things by myself.

My Sega Genesis 2 isn't working. Such a bummer. I was looking forward to playing Sonic and Disney games, too.

I mean, it's turning on. But it doesn't seem to connect to the cartridge data to display or create sound.

What are the chances it simply needs a cleaning versus ruined forever? I'm scared.
