I guess you didn’t understand what I said. Keeping all that Fed money would allow covering ANYTHING the fed is hurting, even if the state must contribute in interim. Think outside the box, otherwise self-defeating. Citizens just bring proof to the state government what they've been getting.

The same. All the SS and Medicare taxes paid by employees in the state withheld from the feds and used to pay those normal recipients until the funds restarted by the fed again. And the state sues on behalf of the elderly and handicapped

Your governor should do it. Take control over federal taxes going to feds and use the $ to feed his own constituents - until the fed restarts the funds.
