I’m fascinated by how bullies will try to silence critics by insisting that accurately describing their actions is beyond the pale. It’s not a new tactic, apparently.

I see they’ve updated the catechism. 10 years ago, these people insisted until their eyes bulged out that our rights were given to us by God and we shouldn’t even think about adding new ones to the list.
Now, “we give” religious liberty to people.

So, what happened after 1974? Phoenix just kept growing. Growing population density allowed for the expected agglomeration effects and income growth. The only real hiccup was after the 2008 crash, when income declined by about 10%.
Here we are 50 years later, with all of the same problems.

Housing is not the only cost that people face, so it's also useful to look at income. Austin is the clear winner, with Dallas surprisingly having caught up to LA County. Given the lower cost of housing, Dallas is a better deal.
But Maricopa County? They lag in income and home affordability.
