If you’re talking software engineers … then yes.

If you’re talking the guys building my extension… then I think this approach is less wise

And to answer your question. Peacetime. I’m getting certs. I’m doing presentations. I’m building my network.

I know work is going to get hard real soon, as demand spikes.

I’m getting ready.

Gergely talks about wartime and peacetime at work in his book. Same thing. We need to behave differently in both to maximise impact…

My concerns are a few years old, whilst working for a large bank and defining regulated interfaces using OpenAPI Spec 3.0, which used a draft JSON Schema spec. This isn’t a comfortable position. As draft - indicates “can change without warning”. And regulatory means fines for non compliance.

Impressive. But is it out of draft yet?

Respect.

Agree. I’ve bought a device to read the PDO (power delivery objects) for each of my chargers, hubs, etc. Hate it when things charge slowly…

2016 - ouch. Would love to see an updated article that takes into account ultra widescreen monitors and their impact on layouts (if any).

Thanks for sharing.

My take.

Profit for growing companies is usually reinvested into growth. If you’re making large profits early on, you’re probably not investing enough in the future.

When you slow that investment, you’ll get a larger profit if your revenue is big.

Didn’t you work at Amazon? 😉

Quick bit of feedback. Can you get the team to review the GitHub vscode-edu app permissions. It’s currently requesting read/write on everything (including ability to manage organisation level settings)

Loving this. I’ve been playing with some Jupyter notebooks as learning, but this could be a better journey for learners

Because - even if you limit things like instances, you can still get hit with massive bills for egress traffic.

I don’t think that cloud providers provide adequate features around this. Whether it is due to agents, malicious callers, or just a mistake.

By default, there should be cost limits built into every service or account.

IMHO
