Residents I’ve spoken to are furious and want the agents out of their city. I’ve seen tense encounters in grocery story parking lots, housing developments, and neighborhoods. I've covered unrest around the world and the anger among protesters here is among the most intense I've ever experienced.

Im any case, I’m just honestly asking you, as an elected official in my city, to try to stay united, whatever your historic disagreements with the Mayor. I don’t think this is the time to play blame games with the mayor or to fight old factional battles. Thanks for listening and for the work you do

I think it’s inappropriate to suggest that this resolution would have somehow prevented ICEs actions today. I don’t see that this resolution would have had any legal force at all. It is effectively a statement of what you would like the contact with the MPD to say.

Jason, that resolution would not have prevented ICE from taking these actions today. It was about the contract with MPD. This is not the time to try to score political points against the mayor. Let’s stay united.
