And then there’s Chase Sui Wonders — a favorite scene-stealer of the movie. You’ll know the part I’m talking about when you see it. Can’t get over how much she’s able to convey in that one sequence alone.

And this film further cements in my belief that Hoffman is an ideal film anchor. Impossibly charming. He makes Elliot so easy to engage with and root for.

Olivia Wilde is perfection as Erika Tracy, the famous artist who takes on Cooper Hoffman’s Elliot as her sexual muse. She’s an absolute ace playing with the extremes of the character, but also knows precisely how to recalibrate when necessary.

It’s a true blast. But the quality that I was most impressed by was how the fun and very big swings always felt thoughtful.

It’s a one-of-a-kind exploration of relationships and how drastically sexual boundaries change from generation to generation. Gregg Araki cheerily packs his satire with vibrant visuals, unique personalities, and big laughs.
