Oregon is an amazing state! The drive along the north coast is so cool. Take it slow and stop often.

In 15 minutes you can walk from downtown Portland to the woods of Forest Park. There you can find miles and miles of trails.

High above Council Bluffs, IA and overlooking Omaha, NE is a nice little area set aside for Lewis and Clark Park & Monument. It’s got some nice hiking trails. In the spring and summer this would be green and lush but winter has its charm also.

In Oregon we have mountains within reach of almost anyone. With a little planning you can come over a ridge like this and forget all your troubles, at least for the moment.
