What does Apple excluding the new iPad from Apple Intelligence (AI) say about their view of the education market? Admins can disable access to AI using MDM controls already. But for the most common edu device to be unable to use AI excludes a significant potential user base. Confusing, for sure.

It doesn't make sense to talk about AI use in terms of "plagiarism" or "academic honesty." AI is like a calculator, not a person from which we can steal. Framing AI use as an "academic honesty" issue puts organizations in an arms race against their use, a war that is un-winnable.

I read 4 books about AI last month, here is my take:
Instead of expecting AI tools to do our work for us, we should expect AI to work with us. AI tools can help us brainstorm, research, find connections among sources, and edit our words for clarity and tone. But we have to do the thinking.
