PNWA staff recently visited the Port of Astoria and met with Will Isom and Matt McGrath for a tour of port operations. We discussed the need for strong advocacy for working waterfronts and plans to upgrade shipyards, piers, and marinas to support efficient, sustainable maritime use.

NWA met with Jon Hie of Hyak Maritime to learn more about plans for Hyak Tongue Point in Astoria. The Columbia River shipyard is developing into a hub for vessel construction, repair, and maintenance—supporting regional jobs and maritime growth.
