I use dish soap and my fingers to gently clean the lenses then blow the remaining water spots off with one of these. Similar to cleaning a telescope lens.

Prior to 1948 productivity increase was nearly equally compensated with rising wages. Since 1973, as productivity continues to increase, wages are more and more stagnated.

This chart shows that in 1962 purchasing power was almost 10x more than today. So you could buy a house and car working as a cashier at Sears when today you can barely buy groceries.

Seems like most of the transportation dollars go to areas that company lobbyists advocated for, while working class communities get the crumbs.

Just feeling bitter about the lack of commute options in the South Sound. The commuter train isn’t the problem, it’s getting to it. If you live in dt Tacoma then it’s fine, but very few people live on the Link. Taking buses to the train station and then connecting in Seattle takes me almost 2 hrs.

Meanwhile Tacoma may get service in 2035, but it keeps getting pushed back. I'm glad rich Microsoft peeps can ride to the park now. I was worried they would have to drive a few minutes on their new highways.

I read your book "The End of Everything (Astrophysically Speaking)" and it was one of the best astrophysics books I've read. I especially liked how you intertwined your personal narrative and some of the struggles you faced.
