They were happy with the results of their pilots (Sinopia and the local software was deemed the be set fit), and will procure a new system this fall.

They have had two parallel projects: one investigating open source library linked data editors (Libris, Marva & Sinopia), and one where they were working with a local linked data company to adapt their (non-library) software.

It was a very interesting presentation, presenting the context for Flanders and their desire to implement an entity-relationship model for the public libraries.

Yes it’s recorded. The organizers have mentioned that slides and recordings will be published on the BFWE website a few days after the conference.

But the similarities between metadata workflows in the proposed Blue Cloud and European union catalogues is striking!

I’m fortunate enough to work with this daily, and have a lot of talented co-workers to discuss with, but at the same time I’m looking forward to other perspectives in the coming weeks with several interesting conferences! BFWE in Helsinki next week (online for me) and then Wolfcon the week after!
