Soccer was introduced to “contact sport” US in the 50s for two reasons: mums afraid of untethered type of violence in AmFootball, and the cost of equipment to schools and families. Some bonehead decided to simply remove hands and contact. If rugby had been introduced instead problem solved. NFL RIP.

Spoiler: we don’t. Like a board game, we have to start over completely. Easy to go feral, ie, return to “man in nature”. Half the voters don’t even remember normal, and half prefer feral. Climbing up to civil society? It will take a new Enlightenment. I’ll be long dead thank you.
