haha coder art is underrated! I'll look forward to seeing the progress. Looking at fractals is always relaxing.

I have given up predicting the release of this game. I have two dates in mind, one at the end of April next year and if I miss that, maybe August.

Do you have any dev experience or are you mostly a narrative designer?

It can be difficult when you look around at other games. Don't worry about who is making what, and just start doing things. That's kinda what I'm doing. No idea if it will work or not but I'll keep going anyways 🙂

Were they not fitting in the game world correctly?

Story is the thing that tends to stick with us the most. I've played games with amazing gameplay loops but lackluster stories. They are still great but I don't really remember much about 'em.

I've tried to be even handed with gameplay / story with my game. Hopefully I struck a good balance 🙂

Writing isn't something I see discussed much on the indie sphere here (maybe I'm not looking hard enough). It's nice to know there are dev's out there writing.

Shaders are fascinating, the amount of power you can wield with them is near limitless.

A friend of mine made a procedural terrain generator using compute shaders and it was so smooth to watch.

Yeah I'm prepping the Five Arcade's release now. You're the first person to say that name back at me 😁

I hope you're having fun! What software are ya using?

Awww that sounds awesome. At uni I had to create a Mandelbrot set with DirectX and threads. It was a lot of fun. Doing that in Godot sounds like a challenge.

I'm just polishing some tilesets, preparing to get my games store page set up in a few weeks 🙂

Look's fantastic. I love the old punch hole paper aesthetic.

Welcome back. I hope you are well rested and ready to get back to it! What are you planning to start with?
November 15, 2025 at 8:39 PM
That's a good plan, recharge and properly prepare before jumping straight in the deep end. I'm hoping to do something similar before starting my next game 😀

yeah I switched to animations for now 😀 I got most of the rules for my tiles done, just 2 are proving unwilling to cooperate. I have a deadline in 2 weeks to have a demo ready! Scary times.

How's your work coming along?

The speed is intense! Looks like a blast!

Question 4: What happens when an incompetent developer removes all the guns from V's inventory?

Answer: Well, that means V can no longer move, the game breaks, players get mad, and the developer has a cry and a lie down.

I'm currently writing rules for my level generator tilemap. I'm at the point where I fix one thing and break basically everything else. Then to make it even better, I decided to add a new type of tile which I now need to wrench into the existing rules. Id cry more but I've already tried that 😢

Question 3: Can V crouch?

Answer: He has no legs, making bending his knees quite difficult. But he's resourceful and found a way 🙂

Microsoft are just driving me crazy right now, I'd rather just cut all ties at this point.

I used to use Linux all the time but my new PC came preinstalled with Windows and I just accepted it. Really regret it now.

Visual Studio is also driving me insane so I definitely need a new workflow
