Oof, 'plump and feral as a grass-fed lamb'... what a treat to lose myself in the vivid, embodied world of this gorgeously green-woody poem. Thanks so much for sharing, Shivanee. 💚

Life has been quite tough lately, and I'm often sad or stressed at the moment. However, I managed to find some small pockets of peace over the long weekend, and made these little pumpkins from air dry clay! I find crafting very soothing. What uplifting activities help you to ease your stress? x
Five small ceramic pumpkins. One is blue/teal, one is orange, one is light green with dark green markings, one is pale yellow with green markings, one is cream/white with apricot-coloured markings. All are suspended on different shades of ribbon. Five small ceramic pumpkins after the first coat of watercolour paints. From left to right, green/orange/blue/yellow/cream. Five little ceramic pumpkins on a glass cutting board, surrounded by wooden clay-working tools. The clay is various shades of mottled grey as it starts to dry.

In May I had the lovely honour of winning 1st prize in the inaugural Kathryn Bevis Memorial Poetry Prize. I'll be reading my poem at the Zoom launch of @thealchemyspoon.bsky.social on Friday 29th August and I'd love to see any poet chums there if you're free. xx

Thrilled to receive the summer edition of preraphaelitesoc.bsky.social PRS Review, and to see my new poem given such wonderful treatment. Being Poet-in-Residence to the PRS is an extraordinary honour. I'm sharing an obscured image here... no spoilers! 🧡🍂💛
PRS Review. Front cover shows DG Rossetti's 1881 painting 'The Boat of Love': gold/grey colours, figures (including an angel) on a wooden ship. On the lefthand page, the text of my poem 'Dismantling De Morgan', obscured by overlaid images of autumn leaves. On righthand page, my photograph of Evelyn De Morgan's painting 'The Hourglass': a seated female figure in flowing orange robes, her right hand reaching for an hourglass on an elaborately-carved low table.

Wow, but I can completely understand that – I had to take a long break, mid-exhibition, just to process it all and prepare for the rest! DT
and Leonora Carrington both make my heart soar. x
