Rob Macaisa Colgate will be leading a remote workshop on revising poetry and resisting the resentful urge to “fix” poems or “make them work”, starting August 28th!
Disabling the Poem: Access As Revision
Remote 6-Week Workshop
August 28-October 2
6-8PM Eastern Time
Rob Macaisa Colgate This is a workshop on revising poetry. Together, we will resist the resentful urge to "fix" our poems or "make them work." Instead, we will learn to serve as care attendants to our poems, to listen to what they are asking of us, to meet those needs so that they might best say what they need to say. Rob Macaisa Colgate (he/she/they) is the author of the poetry collection Hardly Creatures (Tin House, 2025) and the verse drama My Love is Water (Ugly Duckling Presse, 2025). A 2025 NEA and 2024 Ruth Lilly Fellow, he is the managing poetry editor at Foglifter and lives in Chicago.
