At the end of the day, their only tangible justification that exists in reality for banning trans people from gendered spaces, is the same justification that race segregationists used to ban people of colour from "white people spaces".

The study you cling to doesn't break this down into subcategories, but given that sex work has become so necessary for trans women to literally survive, it wouldn't suprise me at all if most of the number you cited were caught doing prostitution in order to put food on the table.

It's also a fact that sex work is categorised under the Sexual Offences Act 2003 category you cited, and given trans women are generally more prone to being forced into sex work because most regular businesses (about 2/3rds by last anonymous survey) won't hire a trans person.
