I don't think I can really daily drive an MNT, my tooling is to x86-centric for that, but damn does this make me want to.

There is probably also VC money involved here. Cloudflare pulled the same stunt last week, and I'd be willing to bet that there is some kind of "let's give money to _our guys_ so that we no longer depend on <insert-current-slur-here>" or whatever. It's pathetic.

I wonder how much of the Framework nonsense is literally just because the CEO still hangs out on Twitter. I check in on my old account there every once in a while and my entire feed is just full of DHH stuff getting retweeted by various right-adjacent bluechecks. If you're in that space, I […]

I really hope the past few weeks have been eye-opening to the Anti-DMA/pro-wallet garden for "security" people

I wonder if the RK3588 might be fast enough for my daily usage as a dev ... I got really used to those speedy Ryzens though

Disappointing news from them supporting the far fight edition of Hannah Montana Linux, and even reposting DHH of all people. Like, sponsoring Hyperland is one thing, boosting that guy is a whole other level of cursed. I guess we'll see what happens, I suspect that they will also sponsor other […]

🇪🇺Germany's Minister of Justice today: "Suspicionless #chatcontrol must be taboo in a state governed by the rule of law." Private communication cannot be placed under general suspicion. "Germany will not agree to such proposals at the EU level." […]

The amount of people that refer to deprecated tech as "mature" is wild to me.

Seriously though, using Claude Code etc. as a way to run `go doc` more efficiently is kind of a game changer. "Read-only" LLMs, so to speak.

Maybe the real "AI" was the RAG we found along the way

Btw #gtk #gnome folks, since I'm new to this - would you find an API like `widgetClass.SetCallbackSnapshot(func(w *gtk.Widget, s *gtk.Snapshot)` to be clearer, or would `widgetClass.SetVfuncSnapshot(func(w *gtk.Widget, s *gtk.Snapshot)` be using the more correct GTK terminology? `puregotk` uses […]

Continued some #gobject subclassing support in Go. Turns out I messed up the C memory alignment in #go for and ended up embedding the parent class as a reference, when GObject expects it to be the actual struct. Funnily enough some callbacks still worked […]

Linear is such a great bug tracker/Jira alternative. They really nailed their UX.

If there is one thing that the Arduino acquisition shows us, it is that RISC-V is long overdue.

Those new UPSes from Ubiquity look so interesting. I wish we had a great open ecosystem alternative to their tooling.

@jdw I think (?) ATProto links (at://) works something like this, but ofc there the DIDs being used in practice aren't decentralized
pojntfx.mastodon.social.ap.brid.gy
@jdw Nono, I mean that the servers/web frontends add that link to their interfaces. Then you open it with your web browser, which instantly redirects you to the app when you have it. Also works on Linux through XDG protocol handlers, and PWAs can register this way too.
pojntfx.mastodon.social.ap.brid.gy
@jdw I think the idiomatic way to do it would be a custom protocol handler/"open in app" button that redirects you to mastodon://url. But I don't think anyone actually implements this as of today.

Thank you Germany for standing against Chat Control. Wow that was close. This, with bill C-2 now hopefully also getting revised to remove the same dangerous clauses soon, might be the best privacy news of the year […]
