I appreciated you for letting me admin when I did. I did enjoy my “bring positivity role” a lot! As you know, people just were thankless and frankly sometimes just outright mean. 🫠 we did a lot of thinking and considering if we’d be doing it again but it’s not worth the drama it brings on.

Jeep and I have discussed this a few times over the last few years. Social media algorithms just messed everything up with the unexpected fluctuations of interest from the sharing of a group being active. Same with Reddit. Everyone has done wonderfully in handling the curveballs of dealing with it!

Oh I’m not a mod anymore. I stepped down as soon as our Monkeyshine season wrapped up last year. The other admins were very understanding and supportive of it. ❤️

We were also from the era of Naughty Monkey blog posts. You used to be able to ask clarifying questions & there wasn’t any room for interpretation or gray area, as the answers received were pretty direct. Paired with her tsk tsk to bad behavior. Unfortunately the community doesn’t get that anymore.

That’s just our speculation. Back when the hashtags worked, I remember digging through previous years # & learning from those interactions. You can’t really do that on Facebook, or even X anymore. Minor things no one could really predict or plan for. All we can do is teach kindly & adjust. 🙂

It’s totally okay! Most didn’t know better. We just paired it with newbies not getting the calm/slow Twitter introduction we seemed to get back in the day. The FB group jumps head first into the community it seems. Bound to be some culture changes and differences. Part of the ever evolving event!

Jeep saw a lot of it because I’d vent often about it. It was just such a huge change of vibe & attitudes from our little X community to this wide open Facebook group. It’s still fun to peruse & scroll, we just don’t engage much anymore. The more present we were the more people seemed to press us. 🥺

Last year people got really entitled with our stuff. Telling us we hated children because we didn’t attend their trade events when we prefer to be anonymous now. Wanting to trade bulk Amazon items for our work and getting upset when we politely declined. Getting mad we wouldn’t meet up. It was weird

I like being able to see some of our Twitter friends on there for sure, but yes the clue chasing. And the drama! The admins are pretty good at cutting the drama short but sometimes it slips by out of anyone’s control. We don’t chase clues normally so we just lurk now. It’s just a different vibe.

We won’t be posting on FB at all minus “this is what we’re making.” IF we even do clues this year (Pichu likes to do clues for her work,) it will only be on BlueSky. Facebook is too insane for us.
