An account that just finds all kinds of little things to love about every Pokémon every week or so. Just fun little tidbits, images, and more. I hope I see people talking about their shared love for each Pokemon too.
Machoke Quick Facts:
- In the Pokémon Red and Blue beta, Machoke was known as "Kung-Foo".

- Machoke's complexion often changes in the game ranging between different shades of grey, blue, and purple.

Machoke's name stems from a combination of the words "Macho", a masculine need to aggressively show off strength, and "Choke" which could be considered a kind of fighting move where you obstruct the passage of throat and airways.

Compared to its regular palette, shiny Machoke has a massive shift in coloring. Its greyish-purple skin and dark purple speedo markings become varying shades of green. The reddish parts of its body, like its eyes, arm ribbing, and the P on their belt also shift to blue.

Similarly to Machop, Machoke seems to be based on a bodybuilder but has more reptilian features. With the speedo-like markings and its wrestler-style belt, one could see them as a sort of grappler. The ribbing on their arms and their lengthier snout with fangs also give off a dinosaur-like feel.

Similar to Machop, Machoke also has the abilities No Guard and had the exclusive move Vital Throw back in Gen 2. The ability coupled with their powerful moves could potentially give the Pokémon a powerful edge in battle. But that "no-miss" effect could also work against the Pokémon as well.

Machoke has enough power to singlehandedly lift a dump truck. Because of this and its love for bodybuilding, it helps with hard labor like construction. The fatigue-free muscles from its past form carry over, making this mon tough, durable, and never tired. Its body is constantly filled with power.
November 3, 2025 at 1:56 PM
Its toned body is almost as hard as steel and even at rest, they continue to exude power. It constantly works out and takes on labor intensive work to bulk up. Even when its not working, it trains in fields and mountains. It's said that every battle it takes makes Machoke's muscles thicken.
November 3, 2025 at 1:52 PM
The belt it wears isn't just for show as its a power save belt that restrains some of its excess strength, letting it regulate its intense might. It is extremely dangerous without the belt. It is said that Machoke only removes it from its body when it encounters a truly might enemy.

By level 28, Machop evolves into Machoke, A much more muscular form with purple-grey skin, red vein-like marks on their arms, a speedo-like pattern on their hip area, and a shiny championship-style wrestler belt. They also now have toes, longer snout, and a pair of sharp fangs.

The name Machop looks to be a combinations of "Macho" and chop. The first word means "being aggressively proud of your masculinity" (aka their muscles) and the second could be a reference to a martial arts move since their evolutionary family is big on fighting skills and techniques.

When shiny, a Machop's grey skin shifts into a sandy yellow-brown. The color also resembles its crest, which remains the same color, so they kind of blend together a little better. Only its reddish-orange eyes and white sclera remain the same. It looks more like a lizard that lives in a desert.

It's hard to really pinpoint the direct inspiration for Machop's design. It's possible the idea behind it is just a youth who is just starting their bodybuilding journey. There are also reptilian features, with the crests and the greyish skin, so maybe something of a fighting dinosaur.

In Gen II, Machop was part of the only evo family that could learn the move Vital Throw, a move that would move last but never missed. They also were once exclusively the only evo family that could learn No Guard, an ability that allowed moves from both sides to surefire hit, in Gen IV.

Muscle training is super important to Machop and its continuous body growth is a great motivator for them on their path of strength. It also makes sure to eat nutritious foods that efficiently build muscle. In regions where they both live, they challenge Makuhita to battle.

Machop's muscles are special in the sense that they never get sore no matter how much they work out. They also have about enough power on average to hurl about a hundred adult humans. There are many Machop who are known to travel the world to train in multiple combat techniques.

Despite looking small in stature and size, a Machop's body is covered in pure muscle. It trains itself in a variety of martial arts (possibly learned from humans or other Pokémon) and it passes its time by lifting boulders. It can even lift the hefty Pokémon Graveler with ease.
October 26, 2025 at 8:23 AM
With its humanoid body, grey skin, and three brown head ridges, Machop can look like a mix of a small child and a dinosaur. It has two wide eyes with orange-red irises, A shallow snout with two small nostrils, a thick yet short tail, toeless feet, and two arms with man-like hands.

As before, Alakazam rounds out the evolutionary line's naming convention. With its pre-evos, rounding out the trios whole magic gimmick. They go from "abra", "kadabra", and "alakazam" one after the other.
October 15, 2025 at 3:52 PM
Unlike its previous evos, the biggest difference between normal and shiny Alakazam palette is that the brown armor now becomes a visibly more pink color. Mega Alakazam does a similar color shift but the dark armor becomes more of a violet tone. Their yellowish skin also gets brighter in color.
October 15, 2025 at 3:24 PM
As before, Alakazam's design could be based on magicians, spoon-benders, and kitsune or even dragons. Its moustache and "sleeve" armor could give it a sage-like appearance. Mega Alakazam's look gives it a wizard or Sadhu-like appearance with the position of its legs and the long, grey-colored beard.
October 15, 2025 at 3:15 PM
As a mega evo, M. Alakazam turns all its remaining body strength into pure psychic power. The red forehead organ can foresee its opponents moves and it can know the life of a person, from birth to death, at a glance. If you can't hit an Alakazam, it probably foresaw the attacks with future visions.
