“Unconscious” casualty, obviously, was the instructor, who assured me that he can hold his breath for ages, that he could just get out if I couldn’t do it and that he was sure I could do it anyway.

I assumed it went with the little blue tent, which frequently breaks poles. No! It goes with the big green tent that I took this weekend!

Could have been worse though, it was the rearmost one. The tent stood up fine but umm, was a bit floppy in the bedroom.

I went to London to see Ghost Protocol in IMAX and had popcorn because it was An Event. And technically, because the local cinema had it on, I got to see Dead Reckoning a few days before its official UK release (and will again this time!). So, excitement.

I even adore the difficult one, M:I2, the first one I saw in the cinema. I watched the special features to death. I "watched" along on a Danish train when someone was watching it on their laptop - I couldn't see the screen and could only hear half the audio but I could keep up in my head.

I was living in Switzerland as a language student at the time and spending all my weekends and most of my evenings on trains. There was a lot of "stick a metaphorical dart in the guidebook and explore wherever it lands" going on that year. (I failed my end-of-year exams. Twice.)

I've got a picture of me aged 20 lying on that patch of grass, looking up at the towers, channelling Scrubs' My Old Lady's advice ("What about your list? How many of those things have you done? For that matter, how many times have you sat in the grass and done nothing, hm?")

Imagine being two adults looking after eleven 7-to-10-year-old Brownies! This one doesn't want to go on that ride, this one wants the toilet, this one's whiny, this one's bored, this one's feet hurt, the queue for the ride is too long and you've got 3 hours on the coach still to come.

Some of it sounds really sarcastic but you need to say you've considered these things, even if they're not going to happen. No, we're not expecting dogs, Scouts, younger sisters, wildfires, fireworks or terrorist attacks either. Wildfires & terrorists are reasonable concerns but not where we'll be.
