I mean, what’s the point in even asserting he was “walking it back” when he made numerous other statements that he’s going forward and there’s “no going back”?

okay cool thanks, good to know you’re disturbed

He's pro-Israel, and has a history of attacking and systematically preventing anti-Israel boycotts, speech and movements.

He also misses quite a few House votes relative to other members, and wanted to collectively remove all Russian students from the U.S., so I think his judgement sucks at least.

the problem is the Dems who do this shit are still going to be re-elected and most without primary challengers. look at Hakeem Jeffries’ approval rating in his own district.

Dem voters are ridiculously stupid. They’re just dwarfed by the Republican voters that are pretty much zombies.
January 15, 2026 at 8:22 PM
no, I never said there should be zero attempts to change public opinion

I just think we need to be real here and understand there’s a fundamental problem amongst Democratic voters that “status quo” and “middle ground” is so toxically pervasive it’s being applied to a literal Gestapo
January 13, 2026 at 8:14 PM
The latter is willful ignorance, not “learning.” They’ve had about a decade of Trump’s bastardization of ICE and Trump rhetoric to learn thus far.
January 13, 2026 at 6:56 PM
What you suggested does nothing. Scaling back an agency infested with Trump goons still leaves Trump goons. Period. Stop thinking your prissy half measures do anything anymore.
January 13, 2026 at 6:55 PM
see you could always go to my profile and see that I’m a Poli Sci PhD but that aside, the idea that you think “Abolish ICE” is going to “lose elections” when “ICE is allowed to murder with impunity” was apparently a winning message, is simply hilarious to me.
January 13, 2026 at 6:55 PM
you don’t scale back an agency that has been pretty much bastardized to be a Gestapo. You replace it with something else that performs the function it should, while imprisoning the offenders from the previous.
January 13, 2026 at 5:01 PM
“Defund the police” was a slogan referencing “the police” which is a fundamental institution/occupation.

ICE is an agency that has existed only since 2003, it’s not really the same.
January 13, 2026 at 5:00 PM
It doesn’t make them a fascist, but it makes them so horrifically inept at responding to actual fascism that we should still admonish them for it. Why wouldn’t someone want to abolish an agency made in 2003 by Bush, that has been converted to Trump’s personal army?
January 13, 2026 at 4:59 PM
You will find nothing that explicitly references that quote. The closest is a Spanish fascist General, during a radio broadcast, saying (rough translation):

“I will execute ten of yours for every one of ours,
even if I have to dig them out of their graves to execute them!”

Old bitch needs a bruise, more news at 11
January 9, 2026 at 10:40 PM
They’re still pretending he was “hit by the car” and not, like, brushed by it while he was on the side of the car drilling bullets into her skull.

They’re a dubious combination of evil, stupid, and weak. As someone who has been actually hit by a car, they’re pussies if they think this is the same.
January 9, 2026 at 7:12 PM
pal, arguing via memes shows you’re out of your depth here. Dems trying to make deals with the “violate literally every deal we make” party is dumb and naive.
January 9, 2026 at 6:44 PM
Huh? No, I’m not okay with that, I think the Dems shouldn’t be trying to bail Republicans out of their own problems when the appropriate strategy is to let them hang themselves.
January 9, 2026 at 6:37 PM
an appropriations package at this point is performative given the admin doesn’t care about following the law or congressional decisions?

shutdowns hurt the admin. People blame them, and their approval decreases.
January 9, 2026 at 4:32 PM
uh, they actively vote for republican measures

how’s that for a start?
January 9, 2026 at 4:31 PM
No you won’t. Until these ice, DHS or CBP agents are tried and strung up, this is empty talk.

If it does come to that, MN cops should have all the consent they need to physically ensure their investigations continue.
