A few days later, about to be caught by the criminals, Jimmy splashes the last of his atomic fuel/hair tonic o his face to grow a spectacular beard to fool them into thinking he is someone else.

A few minutes later, Jimmy’s landlord barges back into his apartment to show that the atomic fuel he accidentally splashed on his bald scalp has resulted in the growth of a full head of hair. Jimmy has inadvertently created a miracle hair elixir!

Disheartened, Jimmy burns his plans for the robot and fuel.

Jimmy is having a rough day. He has created his own “Atomic Fuel” to power a robot cat he is building, but in the span of few seconds he spills the fuel, his landlord barges in complaining about the noise, and his robot cat breaks into pieces after running into a wall.

Today, I’m going to revisit one of the stranger medications of the Silver Age: Jimmy Olsen’s hair elixir, from SUPERMAN'S PAL, JIMMY OLSEN #9.

Infectious Lass uses her power to "convince" the corrupt former President of Earth to cooperate with the Resistance by infecting him with Toonari Stomach Flu in LEGION OF SUPER-HEROES #25

In THE LEGION OF SUBSTITUTE HEROES SPECIAL, Infectious Lass inadvertently infects her teammate Color Kid, as well as several space shuttle passengers and personnel, with Grandin Gender Reversal Germs, with predictable results.
Sadly, it is the only thing she actually does in the issue.

But what about the alien infections? Here we go:
The first of Infectious Lass’s alien infections is "The Phosphorus Flu.". Unfortunately, we never find out what it does as it is more of an empty threat (TALES OF THE UNKNOWN #7).

Despite her access to numerous alien diseases, Infectious Lass generally uses conventional terrestrial infections. For example, in her first Legion tryout, she KO’d Starboy with a one-two punch of the common cold and the flu. In TALES OF THE UNEXPECTED, she uses a cold to take out a Nazi gorilla.

One of my interests is the intersection of comic books and medical science, the quirkier the better. Case in point: Infectious Lass and her alien diseases. (1/8)
