Hey just asking questions here: does anyone know the types of boats the U.S. military has destroyed in the Caribbean? I mean I can see they’re not huge but haven’t seen make/model listed in anything I’ve read about the strikes.

If you’re feeling cynical AF and need a comforting laugh, might I suggest the 16th episode of the 7th season of the Simpsons? “Lisa the Iconoclast” pokes fun and drops huge truth bombs about so many issues that still plague us today, but with many jokes along the way.

The Dems are clearly compromised.
Now is the time for a new party. It’s not when the election is a few weeks out. I think the most successful strategy would be to focus on big tent issues like cost of living, corruption, justice, reform the federal govt, etc. Name it the Federalists or Unionists.

Alabama and Tennessee fans would do well to vote blue as their teams do better under Dem presidents…

I think blaming lack of action on gun violence on profits is misguided. The industry is not *that* big. It also lets spineless politicians off the hook. Gun “rights” is a deeply embedded part of our culture, and any regulations are seen as a threat. How do we overcome THAT?

It’s wild how the right hates anything woke/DEI/LGBTQ+ etc in schools then does immigration raids, book bans, underfunding, SNAP cuts, trans sports drama, climate crises, covid drama, and of course gun violence and lockdown drills. Get your weird bullshit out of schools.

So if our public lands go up for sale, who would want to crowdsource buying them? Maybe some eco friendly billionaires can help?

If someone had spoken out about concentration camps in 1933 and warned of the future, before Nazis had even developed those plans, and they had successfully dissuaded the Nazis, would they hailed as a hero or considered histrionic? How do we know when advocacy has been successful prevention?

This story is all sorts of fucked up:
- A backup dancer in Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl show was ARRESTED for holding up a Gaza & Sudan flag.

- NFL is “pleased” with the arrest. It’s not news that the NFL profits off POC w/o supporting them, but damn.

- they maybe also got shot by Antonio brown?

Heard an old white dude at the barber shocked about his granddaughter’s boyfriend “wearing pantyhose”. Well, your president (never mine) wears makeup, so maybe the kids are trying to be like him.

Was curious about the origins of the Iran vs US issue, and shocker: we helped create regime change there over oil back in the day (1953). How many countries have we destabilized for financial gain where we are now reaping what we sow?

ADHD + being eco friendly = when AC repair guy tells you to clear out weeds around AC unit you spend 5 hours IDing them and pulling up and replanting the native plants that are not weeds.

So the right claimed that democrats were giving undocumented immigrants money but now trump is actually giving them money

This article, about school lunch debt, does a really good job going beyond that topic and into the “advocacy paradox” or: immediate action vs systemic change. Big vs small. Inertia and momentum. Give it a read. www.huffpost.com/entry/utah-s...

I love how triggered MAGAs in heavily red states get by the mere existence of libs, let alone protesters.

Have any new factories been announced since trump started his trade war? I haven’t heard of any. Shouldn’t Republicans be pulling themselves up by their bootstraps and starting businesses now that we don’t have regulations and our economy has been “unleashed”?

Thinking aloud: how do we counter the doubts of science and expert skeptics? Saying “trust the science” when science changes or “trust the experts” when we’ve all had bad doctors, teachers, etc. rings a little hollow. The nuance is obvious to some, but what about the rest?

Well this is fucking horrifying. ICE raided a citizen’s home in Oklahoma. They knocked down the door, in the early morning, entered guns drawn. Forced mother and children outside in the rain in underwear. Stole all their stuff and destroyed their house. kfor.com/news/local/w...

Interesting analysis of the impact the Economic Blackout on Feb 28. It created a noticeable impact and for Amazon, Target, and Walmart, the amount of shoppers was well below average. However, the overall impact was muted by shopping earlier or later in the week. www.numerator.com/resources/bl...

It is a sight to behold: republicans are still mad about Dems not doing enough about the Western NC floods (they did enough, GOP are liars) but are saying nothing about trump’s FEMA denying assistance to trump’s former employee Sarah Sanders for Arkansas flooding.

This is just one financial news writer, but that is a pretty damning analysis of where we’re at. Thanks trump voters!

Just thinking about when we had the chance to reform our elections (including campaign finance, gerrymandering, voting rights, and ethics rules) and Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema stopped it from happening. Neither are in the senate anymore. Where would we be now had it passed?
