I'm now onto Summer Knight and books 3 & 4 have been super super good.

I don't know how Ruocchio had the balls to navigate the highs and lows that this story contains. Because holy cow does it have some lows. It had so many moments that felt bleak and hopeless but it also had moments of true hope. I could write so much about this series but i rather you read it

The Sun Eater Series by Christopher Ruocchio
100/10

Gang, I cannot stress enough how good this series is. Highkey this might be my favorite book series of all time. The best way to explain this series is that its a space opera with the bones of an epic fantasy (NOT in the way that star wars is.)

"Regia Occulta/Xenos" by Dan Abnett

I wanted to finally explore Warhammer and this didn't disappoint. The last half of Xenos is batshit insane. The whole story is crazy and I desperately need to finish the Eisenhorn Series.

All of the Stormlight Archives books plus Novellas in order. (Not Book #5 yet) by Brandon Sanderson

These were rereads and I found so many more easter eggs that I missed the first time around. There isn't much to say about them that hasn't been said already. They are all good and really fun. 10/10

"A Court of Thorns and Roses" by Sarah J. Maas

I have no idea. Every notion I had about this book was that it was just "romantasy". But I felt like it had some cool and brutal fights, as well as fun magic. It was not the horny fae romance I thought it was going to be.

... I will admit that the highs of this book were higher than book #1 though. The whole climax of the book was so good and gory and scary. I think I just didn't vibe with the main premise.

The Dresden Files #1 & #2 by Jim Butcher

I really liked "Storm Front" #1. Witty one-liners, unexplained gutter magic, vampires, Chicago mobsters, and fantasy noire detective mysteries. I truly could not ask for more. "Fool Moon" #2 on the other hand, did not hook me like the first book...

Now for " Queen of Fire" #3. This one felt like it lost the whole charm of what made the the story good. Specifics can be found on good reads.

... "Tower Lord" #2 was slow and dragged in many parts but otherwise was a satisfying sequel to book 1. It really showed the scope and breadth of consequences for actions taken in the first book...

The Raven's Shadow Trilogy by Anthony Ryan

"Blood Song" #1 is such a good book with so many cool premises. It was interesting, it was filled with action and conflict. I dont understand how this story fell apart over the course of the trilogy...

"Kings of the Wyld" by Nicholas Eames

I think this was the most fun I have ever had reading a story. If you like DnD this is the book for you. The premise is simply getting the gang back together after they have retired for one more adventure. Then they can go back to the lives they built.

"Isolate" by L. E. Modesitt Jr.

This was one of those types of genres that I haven't really explored. I was interested to see how I would like political intrigue not in a film or movie. I can easily say that this did not disappoint and I need to return to the trilogy.
