What is "plenary authority" and why is it a big deal that Miller said that Trump has it over the national guard?

A few hours ago, speaking on cnn about Trump's plan to send the national guard into us cities, Miller said : under title 10 of the us code, the president has plenary authority, has... He then fully stopped talking and just blinked at the camera, as if he realized that he said the quiet part out loud. "Plenary authority" means "complete power over a particular area with no limitayions". It is equivalent to ruling by decree, which us how Mussolini, Stalin or Hitler governed. Having "plenary authority" over the military would mean that Trump can just use the national guard as he pleases, no matter what the courts say. It's a power grab.

Oh, not much, just fascism happening in real time. CNN allowed Stephen Miller to re-record a paragraph in which he blurted out, “plenary authority,” which is full, unconstricted power. That’s what we need, right? Trump and Stephen Miller with unconstricted power?

Just a reminder to go see OBAA if you’re at all interested in state of the art modern auteur filmmaking. It’s not a perfect movie by far, but PTA is an essential voice of cinematic compassion, empathy and deep black humor. The cast is incredible, even Leo. The whole thing is a gift. Go see it.

Dayum, this woman hits all the red flags. At this point I think pretty much every single transphobe is a closet white supremacist-nazi egg. It feels like if someone doesn’t have at least have a smidge of empathy for trans folk, it speaks to something deeper in their character.

Been having a bit of a dry spot regarding "what happens next" in my WIP. Sometimes you just don't know. But after several days of reading, research, daydreaming and contemplation, I can say the solution came in a sudden flood, and now I know exactly "what happens next." Creativity is weird.

Dave Chappelle has railed against cancel culture and defended freedom of speech in the United States, because the public, and especially social media, criticized him for his views on Jews, the trans community, and homosexuals. He's claimed it's made his job very hard. In Saudi Arabia, whose citizens have no freedom of speech and whose government proves his point every day, he happily signed his free speech away to the regime that sends you to jail for insulting Islam. Perhaps he talked them down to the same free speech deal that Burr got. If only trans activists had known what size check to cut for Chappelle, they could have shut him up years ago and saved themselves all the picketing at Netflix.
