Yeah at first I had the text on for longer and it followed the footage off screen but it didn’t feel right. Since it has that old 70s look it felt too modern and out of place for me.

Yep. I’ve done some tests syncing audio and it’s been pretty successful but I just didn’t have enough film to waste on shooting a clapper board. Just start rolling and action! 🙂

Camera is good but I also use de-flickering and stabilizing in Resolve for a more steady, consistent image. I don’t remove any grain (I actually sharpen everything a bit) but I use the dust buster tool in Resolve to take out the biggest dirt and hairs. I’m going to do a youtube video on my process.

It’s funny how the compression removes so much of the grain that it looks more like 16mm film or something.

Shot a 2 min short on Super8 with @lottalosten.bsky.social while we were in Sweden. Shot on Kodak Vision 3 50D with a Canon 814XL-S camera.

When you record a long YouTube video and don’t notice that the overhead mic is slowly sagging into frame so you have to reshoot it… 😞

Harry Potter of course. Just look at those Harry Potter colors.

Many times I’ve gotten these on the first try but yesterday I didn’t… 😳

(You only see a little bit of the image at first and more is revealed with each guess)
A screenshot of framed.wtf one frame challenge where you guess the movie. The film is Shazam and I got it on the second try.

I just learned they’re doing a ”Dancing with the Stars” and ”Shark Week” mashup called ”Dancing with Sharks”.
Like, how do you even make jokes anymore?

I found what appears to be a production still where you can see there’s no background in the mirror, only black, so it was probably done because there was no set back there.

Trying to avoid seeing a non-existent part of the set? Avoid seeing lights?

Very puzzled by this bit in ”The Spiral Staircase”. She’s standing in front of a mirror but in the wide shots it’s clearly not a mirror but a flat picture (without her reflection). Very obvious when camera moves. What could be the reason for this?

You don’t have to shoot horror in actual low light

If you didn’t get that Bogart is evil in ”The Petrified Forest” the way they frame him against the background may give some subtle hints…
