FWIW, I've decided to inquire with the publisher about the humans and technology involved in producing the book. It's really lovely and I'd love to acquire one, given I don't feel the ethics are dodgy.

I've wondered how many more storytellers we would've had if TTRPGs weren't demonized during the Satanic Panic. A good D&D campaign teaches Dungeon Masters about hooks, plotting, worldbuilding, creating fun characters with their distinct motivations and quirks, etc.

Probably irrelevant note: I can't access this page from my work's internet, but when I switch to my hotspot I can. I think this means the page is hosted in one of the countries that my office blocks for security reasons, which is mostly former Soviet members, North Korea, and Iran, I think.

Maybe some helpful context: the 2 Billion was the value of the potential annuity over 30 years. The one time payout was closer to 1 Billion, so the taxation was closer to 40% than 70%.
