Will the new texts have a bunch of brackets? Yalchin Rafiyev, #COP29 lead negotiator: “Mindful of the time remaining until the end of COP29…we will have shorter, more concise straight to the point texts that will enable parties to engage in more focused discussions.” ( fingers crossed!)

Civil society protests at the COP29 climate talks have been muted with over 450 activists allowed to protest in a closed room away from the public eye, before being allowed for a short time to form a human chain. They softly hummed “we are the people, mighty might people” amid heavy police presence.
