Alternately titled "Brain Strain", which is what likely caused the headache to begin with - but having one right now as I type this, I have to say it's fairly accurate in terms of what I'm feeling right now, in fiery alert colors, with darker red-purple areas which seem to be covered by lightning, or frayed nerve endings. It's a cold day today, much too cold to paint, but at least we have this to hold us until Spring and Summer return. In this we have frost crystals forming, in the shapes of serpentine tendrils and branching trees, in pale, silvery tones with a strong, metallic aqua background. This one looks a lot like a coastline, which itself isn't surprising in my work, but this time the coastline looks alive with life and color! Quite often that is the case along coastal areas, they are more developed through tourism, shipping, etc, and in this one that activity seems to be captured! We don't appreciate what we have until it's gone, so until we have blazing hot temps again, we can only dream of a warm world, at least in the Northern hemisphere! This dream of heat is mostly metallic red, orange, and gold on white gesso, with a hint of an Earth tone base! I was 16 years old at the time, and was attending a workshop held at the college I later attended. I remember sitting there at my drawing bench with my board & clips, sharpening my pencils and preparing to draw, when a young female walked by me in a bath robe, and proceeded to walk to the front of the room, take off the robe, and sit in a chair on a pedestal. "Okay, here we go..." I thought, and drew this. Definitely NOT my best, but my first, and I'm showing it to you with all of it's false proportions and omitted faces intact. Thank you for looking!

I can almost hear the sound of the hammer striking the anvil on this one... The hammer is at the top in gold, and the anvil is at the bottom in deep blue.
