no worries💚 the internet in the 2000s was practically designed for kids to do dumb stuff without much lasting consequence. i did plenty myself. love you

1. Void Stranger consumed me utterly. For being a little sokoban game, it made me cry, laugh and get utterly upset to the point of giving up. It is beautiful, it is difficult, it is utterly magnificent. Everyone needs to play this game. Play it without spoilers as long as you can, but play it.

2. Unicorn Overlord has the best tactical gameplay I've ever seen. After finishing I looked and nobody else I saw played the game quite like I did. Incredibly deep and satisfying and personal. Spent a lot of time thinking about this game when I wasn't playing it. Vanillaware do it like no other.

3. Bomb Rush was my randomizer game of 2025. Incredible world building, great music and aesthetics, one of those games that really shaped the year for me. I ended up modding it slightly since base game's a bit slow but it's so expressive and flows superbly even without mods. YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

4. Hades 2 improves on the first in so many ways and also it's rare that a game makes me not want to finish it due to the story giving me conflicting feelings, maybe due to pacing. I'm really glad it exists now, but almost wish they'd done something new instead? Be careful what you wish for I guess?

5. Titanfall 2 I have seen the light. I played Apex Legends for a bit and Titanfall is just incredible as a source. I love the big robot. Short and sweet but lots of fun. Great level design and fun weapons, very customizable in your approach. Incredible game and very cheap and well worth the price!

6. Xenoblade X is a fun big robot shooty game with almost no story and has basically no connection to the other Xenoblade games. It can be very unbalanced in your favor and it's fun to make the robot explode a bunch of stuff. DE version makes the game a lot more flexible too; it's a good upgrade.

7. Skies of Arcadia really makes you feel like a navigator/pirate and I'm so glad my wonderful girlfriend @anarchbea.bsky.social pushed me to play it finally because it was such a fun journey. Combat is a little basic but the exploration is really key to what makes it shine, especially for its time.

8. Secret Little Haven is a cute and very personal game about discovering yourself over the internet in the late '90s or early 2000s. I pretty much lived this game so it got me pretty good. My lovely girlfriend @cmecau.bsky.social shared it with me and it made me cry!

It scratches that RPG itch while also really rewarding curious players. Great game. 💚

9. Crystal Project is a truly open world JRPG heavily inspired by Final Fantasy 5's job crystal system and while the combat system isn't quite as robust as its homage, what it does do is extraordinary in its own right. Also it's got a pretty good Archipelago mod if you want a casual 1200 check game.

10. The Outer Wilds is such a unique game done on a scale I've never seen, it's so beautiful and everything is pretty perfectly orchestrated. I don't do horror well though and there are a couple of parts that nearly ruined the game completely for me. Otherwise it'd be way higher on this list.
