Over 30, mostly here to lurk on the outskirts
Saw a dull and ancient multi tool in my grandparents basement when l was maybe 5, my grandpa gave me a block of very soft wood to try to cut with it. Been carving or making other stuff for over 20 years now. People should make stuff

temp shock definitely plays a part, but even under winter cold running water they always wanted to stay glued for me. It obviously works for you, l can't imagine peeling that many without any tearing if it didn't, but now l wanna know why l had no luck with it. Gonna eggsperiment with this later.

l used to do that, but my shells always stuck like Velcro. Saw a science video a few years back testing it and dumping them into already boiling water made a huge difference. l tried it and the shells almost fell off, was life changing. Maybe elevation plays a part too?

They are worth a shot, basically takes an extremely thin shaving while being able to conform to gradual irregularities in the surface. They are more popular with furniture makers, but they work fine on smaller stuff too, just used one on a big serving spoon l carved to smooth the bowl of it

Have you ever tried card scrapers or burnishing? was a game changer for final finishing once l got them down, at least for the stuff I've worked on

wow, l didn't see this before basically commenting the same thing further down

There is a simple trick to his dogshit writing? It's called making every bit of information sorta a question or uncertain? That way it's all pre-retconned and another literary bandaid can get slapped onto whatever direction people seem to be taking it? There is no actual story, just mirages of one.

This insulated dipshit is asking isn't asking as rhetorically as he thinks, he genuinely doesn't know. Plenty with shitty american insurance have to see their gp before a specialist if they want it covered, but he has deluded himself into thinking he has some innate knowledge. Fuck this clown

lt really shows, knowing when to include a mouth or not to draw more attention to the eyes, facing different directions, somehow conveying all sorts of feelings without exaggerating. l guess it comes with practice, but it feels like you never just drew a face without some meaning behind it

l keep getting brought back to the facial expressions, and how cleanly their personality and emotions come across

The difference between creation and consumption is totally lost on some people

saw Nick Cage rip apart a robot ostrich out of the corner of my eye from a muted TV on a night shift. Turned on the volume for more context, but he didn't talk. Uncertain if it was just a fever dream the next morning. 10/10

Sufficiently advanced tech is indistinguishable from magic, all advanced societies pull most of their creations out of tophats and predominantly pay with coins produced from behind an ear. l really love your unknowable technology to cargo occult pipeline.

This makes so much more sense after the lore dump. Sci-fi hobo runes

So they are all ancient alien bio-tech from a (probably) dead race hastily repurposed in a last ditch plot to stave off extinction, haunted by the ghosts of their original personalities as well as their past manufactured lives? That's pretty fucking cool.

Probably because the further you go up the chain, the less your specific actions have any immediate effect, all those doofuses have been doing was pushing buttons and patting themselves on the back whenever something good happened. Al or a roulette wheel can accomplish something similar.

Recently found out that the meandering swerving to dodge static obstacles might be an adhd thing, is it like that?

Have you checked out Snapmaker? it's light duty, but you get a machine that can competently print, cnc mill, and laser all in one. Coworker has one, and he seems pleased with it

That looks like such a useful part, simple but elegant in a way. l've been wood and metalworking for around 20 years at this point; so scrapwood, iron tiewire, and whatever else I've got laying around usually turn into whatever l need them to be. Recently rebuilt a switch by hand with uv resin.

Are you already on Bandcamp? LMK, l'd like to hear what you've made if you have stuff posted

l've been using lowercase 'L's in place of uppercase 'l's for years now, and nobody ever notices. Hiding in plain sight, for my own laziness and amusement.

That's cool! l finally got a second hand printer from a friend a while ago, but l've already spent so much time learning how to carve or fabricate that l can usually make one off parts by hand faster than l could model and print them. Any suggestions on useful things l should try printing?

l think it would be the Pygmalion effect at work, if not living in the only place with more brain melting mold than her own crypt, otherwise the math just can't shake out. That's like one in five people being a sociopathic murderer. Certainly not the biggest plothole in her shit, but still
