I will say that 15 minutes into season 2 of #twinpeaks I am getting more of the David Lynch aesthetic I expected with season 1.
If Season 2 is more surreal batshit insanity that is more of Lynch’s style, why does everyone hold Season 1 in higher regard?

I finished season one of #twinpeaks and I am…underwhelmed?
Maybe I expected too much weirdness from it? The crazed “lynch-ness” of it seems kissing? More of a straight forward soap opera than surrealist nightmare.

One thing that jumps out to me when re-reading Snyder’s first issue is how verbose he is. Love a writer who isn’t afraid to actually write in comics.
And what’s even more impressive is that it doesn’t suffocate Capullo’s artwork.

One thing that on the outset is obvious about rereading Snyder’s original run on Batman is how much easier it is to enjoy the book without the stigma of the New 52 attached to it.
Easier to enjoy in 2024 without having to fight to figure out what’s in vs. out of continuity like I did in 2012.

I decided to revisit the Snyder-Capullo Batman run for the first time since it was published. My relationship with this run in complicated - but based on the strength of #AbsoluteBatman I think now is a great time to re-read it.

#AbsoluteBatman is off to a really strong start. Truly love this new take on the Bat mythos.

#saturdaynight is fun but it never quite reaches the Sorkin inspired anxiety peak that it aspires to reach. Some plot points are resolved too nicely while others are completely abandoned. The upcoming new Oscar category awarding casting was created for a movie like this.
