Weird that an overly obsessed need to talk about how good the economy is under the rise of fascism doesn’t play out well. Will is so focused on the “logical” economy that he forgets what reality is.

People are needing to stretch their dollar for the most amount of food possible. So ingredients for one meal could cost the same as something frozen that could be used for multiple meals. Instead of starving to death we choose the cheapest option, which is most likely the unhealthy choice.

This indicates that the owners of those factories are much richer not the individuals eating food. Also cheaper unhealthy food is wildly more available than nutritious food. So, people are still more preoccupied with eat enough vs caring about the nutritional value.

Being able to buy stuff while not being able to own property or never escape debt are not good indicators of a successful economy. People would rather take on extra expenses to make their life better rather than to scrimp and save to hopefully one day get out from under the boot of capitalism.
