There has to be a different way to live than this. There are people out there that are making that dream a reality and I’m so grateful to have finished another season of work with others who believe that Better Things are possible. See y’all next Earth Day, Harlem Grown fam.

Fortunate, bc SNAP benefits are stopping soon and 40+ million Americans will be without the support they rely on to feed their families. “The well has run dry,” reads the message on the USDA website. Not a top priority, apparently. Can’t afford it. Can’t figure it out. It’s complicated, I’m told.

I spent Saturday making soup for my neighbors. A vegan variation of pozole - with mushrooms and tomatoes and a blend of shallots, garlic, ancho, guajillo and árbol chiles. It was the last community event for the year, but fortunately Harlem Grown operates their free weekly farm stands year-round.
