Certainly is that. It was that rare thing, a church that I was happy to leave, notwithstanding that the class needs a lot of careful scrutiny and I’m sure that I didn’t give it the justice that’s it’s due.

My Granny used to read me ‘A Christmas Carol’ from her copy of the book which was itself a Victorian edition. She was born in 1890 and was very much of her time. She heartily disapproved of women priests and used to engage in letter exchanges with Bp Stockwood heatedly and politely on the subject.
