Certainly is that. It was that rare thing, a church that I was happy to leave, notwithstanding that the class needs a lot of careful scrutiny and I’m sure that I didn’t give it the justice that’s it’s due.

True. I long ago decided that he wasn't for me, although I adore those medieval places (mostly) that were built for him and in which many still worship.

A man who we call Jesus existed, I'm pretty sure of that. But was he the son of God and God himself incarnate? Harder to comprehend.

My Granny used to read me ‘A Christmas Carol’ from her copy of the book which was itself a Victorian edition. She was born in 1890 and was very much of her time. She heartily disapproved of women priests and used to engage in letter exchanges with Bp Stockwood heatedly and politely on the subject.

It costs a great deal of money unfortunately. However, we have a better attitude toward the maintenance of these things nowadays.
