I believe they have done exponentially more harm than good.
For example, I would propose cars have had a massive accelerating effect on the alienation of most USians. That in turn is a contributing factor to what we’re dealing with now politically and socially.

I love Star Trek because it’s the future I hope for.
I love The Expanse because it’s got the kinds of people I hope for. The ones who do the hard right things even when everything looks hopeless.
