It was with great joy we heard the Holy Father, at the end of his Wednesday audience this last week, announce that the canonisations of Bl. Carlo Acutis and Bl. Pier Giorgio Frassati will take place during the Holy Year next year.

We are delighted to hear official news of the forthcoming canonisation of Blessed Pier Giorgio #Frassati, Patron of our Diocesan Youth. Pope Francis has announced that he will be canonized during the Jubilee of the Youth, from 28 July -3 August 2025. May he continue to pray for us.

The war in Ukraine drags on. Although much criticised for saying it, Pope Francis is surely right: there must at some point be a negotiated settlement of some sort. Let us pray earnestly that this will quickly be the case. Read more in this week e-News... mailchi.mp/portsmouthdi...
