I can't find economic demographics about the guard, and it probably varies by state anyway, and between the active duty and the reserve, but about 75% of guardsmen are white apparently. That's a much higher percent than the country as a whole

This is the national guard not the military. National guard is mostly small business owners who do soldiering as a side thing. That's why it was so controversial when they started sending them overseas.

Choosing to join the military and go slaughter innocents in unprovoked invasions of foreign countries isn't "serving" anything that deserves to be served

"I'm just following orders" is not a defense. I don't care how emotionally difficult it is. Getting dishonorably discharged for refusing to do something evil isn't a bad outcome.

They know what side of the line they're on. The fact that they're there at all shows where their loyalties are.

At Tiananmen Square the Chinese tanks refused to run over the protesters. That was the whole point of that photo. US security forces choosing to casually run over protesters with their cars is already several steps beyond Tiananmen Square
