Total snobbery. It's a completely satisfying Hollywood movie. Of course it's obvious and predictable. I think, though that Pitt elevates it in a way not many of the big movie stars could. Only a curmudgeon could begrudge us the simple pleasures of big dumb movies.

I wish the piece mentioned how she has accumulated a fortune during her time in office and that she is retiring immediately upon becoming eligible for a congressional pension. Given how hateful she has been and how vicious the policies she still supports are it's hard to grant her much grace.

OMG, The Creator was the most original film this century for stupid concepts. My IQ has not recovered. It looked great! But WTF were they thinking? A war platform in the sky that has to be immediately above it's targets, bombs on legs, etc. Ouch

I laugh about this when I read Jane Austen. She's always telling all kinds of stuff. Tell, tell, tell, witty repartee, then sly mockery, then tell some more. I wish I could do that.

Advice implies something about it's audience. It takes some experience and perspective to arrive at a point where you can see the forest for the trees enough to cut bits of writing that you are fond or proud of but that don't work. You may have graduated from the audience for that particular advice.

Step up basis on capital gains is a huge give-away that's almost invisible. He's right that it should be eliminated. I'd lower his $100M threshold quite a bit, maybe $10M or even less, maybe get rid of it entirely, or maybe limit it to something like a primary residence.

This is true, but I have found it to be oddly tranquil. I lost my patience a bit with the long recorded message every time she calls them, can't she just tell them to cut out the message? It's definitely an odd choice for a show like this, but I am just kind of going with the non-frenetic pace.
